BEGINNER FAQ
1. How should a beginner start meditating?
Start with our free 45-minute intro. You’ll talk with a guide, learn how the structured method works, try a short guided practice, and ask questions. You don’t need to prepare or know how to quiet your mind first.
2. Do I need any meditation experience?
No. Many people come to Bayside Meditation with no previous experience. A guide explains each step and helps you begin at a comfortable pace.
3. How do I know if I’m meditating correctly?
You don’t have to figure that out alone. Your guide shows you what to do and gives you time to ask about what you’re experiencing. If you continue after the intro, your first 3–5 regular sessions are guided one-on-one.
4. Can I teach myself meditation?
Apps and videos can be a useful way to explore meditation. If you’re unsure what to do or get stuck, personal guidance lets you ask questions and learn our step-by-step method before moving into regular practice.
5. How long should a beginner meditate?
You don’t need to start with a long session. The free intro lasts 45 minutes, but only part of that time is guided meditation; there’s also time to talk and ask questions. Your guide can help you find a manageable way to practice regularly.
6. What happens during the free intro session?
You’ll meet a guide, talk about why you’re interested, hear a practical explanation of the method, and try a short guided meditation. There’s time for questions before you decide whether to continue. Intro appointments are available in person or online.
7. Where is Bayside Meditation located?
We’re a physical meditation center at 43-24 220th Pl, Bayside, Queens, NY 11361. You can meet your guide and practice at the center; online options are also available.
