Have you ever been in the middle of a task and suddenly been distracted by thoughts that have nothing to do with what you're doing? Perhaps you've found yourself unable to concentrate on your work because all you can think about is what happened at yesterday's meeting. Or maybe you're trying to focus on reading a book, but instead, find yourself thinking about what the author's next novel will be like. The truth is, we all experience distraction from time to time, but there are ways we can become free from these disruptive thoughts so that we can live in the moment and focus on our goals instead!
In this blog post, I'll show you several techniques that help me deal with distractions. Let’s get started!
Pay attention to your thoughts.
Pay attention to your thoughts.
The key here is to realize that your thoughts are just that—your thoughts, not the truth. They can change and you can stop them from being a distraction if you want to.
Before bed or when you get up in the morning, take a few minutes in silence and reflect on how are feeling. What is going on in my life right now? If there's anything I'm worried about or stressed out about, what can I do about it? These are all helpful questions for reflecting on what's happening in your life and giving yourself space for introspection without distractions (like checking Facebook every 5 minutes).
Don't worry about the past.
Another way to become free from distracting thoughts and live in the present moment is to not worry about the past. If you learn something from your mistakes, that’s great! But if you don’t, don’t let it get you down. Just keep moving forward on your path toward success, whatever that may be for you!
When we spend too much time thinking about our mistakes, we can lose sight of what matters most—our present moments. Worrying about these things too much can make us feel like we are stuck and unable to move forward. While this might seem like a good idea at first glance (after all, there were some things in your past that bothered or upset you), taking action will help heal those wounds and move forward in life with confidence!
Appreciate your present situation.
When you're experiencing something good, pay attention to it. For example, if you've just enjoyed a delicious meal and are feeling full and contented, appreciate how well that meal has nourished you. Or if you're enjoying some time with friends or family members who make you happy, appreciate the fact that they are present with you right now.
When we are focused on what's happening right now in our lives—not being distracted by past regrets or future worries—we let go of stress and anxiety (which leads to more peace). We also gain a deeper understanding of our place in this world: We understand better how connected we actually are with everything around us.
Be kind to yourself.
Start by being kind to yourself. If you're going to let go of the past and live in the present moment, you need to be your own best friend. Treat yourself like the person who knows what's best for you, and not someone who would treat themselves poorly or with cruelty. In order to do this, try thinking about how you would treat a good friend if they were having a hard time. You would probably be compassionate and forgiving towards them, and encourage them as much as possible.
It can also be helpful to remember that everyone makes mistakes—including yourself! So don't judge yourself too harshly when things go wrong; try instead to learn from each mistake so that next time things will go even better than before!
Reflect on negative thoughts and feelings.
● Reflect on negative thoughts and feelings.
● Notice when you're having a bad thought, and then think about what triggered it.
● Ask yourself if this thought is true or not. If it's not true, why do you feel like this thought is true? If it is true, what would changing something else in your life allow this to change? Can you imagine that scenario happening? What are two things that would make you feel better in that situation? What would help calm your mind down and let go of the stressors in your life so they don't keep coming up over and over again every day?
Discard negative thoughts.
First, you must discard negative thoughts. Remember that a mind is a powerful tool, and if you allow it to run rampant with negativity, you will always be stuck in an endless loop of self-doubt and anxiety. If a negative thought pops into your head, simply let it go as soon as possible. Do not dwell on it or allow it to take over your life.
If you find yourself struggling to get rid of a particularly persistent negative thought (for example: “Everyone hates me”), try doing something else with your time until the thought goes away on its own or becomes less intense. You can also try writing down the reasons why this particular opinion isn't true—if there aren't enough reasons listed here already!
Stop worrying about others' opinions of you.
This is a great tip because it can help you better understand your own thoughts and actions, while also freeing up your time. As we’ve already discussed, one of the most important things to do when dealing with negative self-talk and distracting thoughts is to stop comparing yourself to others. It’s okay if you don’t have as many friends on social media as someone else does; not everyone has the same values or interests in common. And it doesn't matter if someone's career is more successful than yours—at the end of the day, what matters most is whether or not YOU are happy with where YOU are in life right now.
As far as other people go: they'll have their own problems that they will need to deal with (and they probably won't like every single thing about YOU either). So instead of worrying about what everyone else thinks about you all day long—whether it be strangers on an airplane or coworkers from work—focus on YOUR inner peace instead!
Just be yourself! You are the Universe.
You are the Universe. We all came from pure energy and living consciousness.
As one of the most powerful beings in existence, we all have an incredible opportunity to live in harmony with our own minds and transcend our problems by living in the present moment as conscious beings on a conscious planet. The first step to doing this is realizing that it's possible to make a change right now!
Have confidence in yourself and remember that true you have an infinite universe mind!
In order to become free from distracting thoughts and live in the present moment, you must find your true mind and remember that true you have an infinite universe mind!
You are the universe. You have an infinite universe mind. You have unlimited potential and possibility. You have eternal life, so don't worry about death because it won't happen until you're done with life on earth!
Conclusion
As you can see, there are many ways to stop negative thoughts from taking over your mind and life. By taking care of yourself and focusing on what's important to you, you'll find that it gets easier and easier to stay in the present moment.
